The pandemic hasn’t derailed us from pushing forward. Research, data and capacity building are critical to help us understand our challenges and address them with the right tools, mindset and strategy. Hence, UNIDO conducted trainings for optimization of motor-driven systems in over 18 other countries that is designed for industries and energy practitioners which resulted in critical energy savings and cuts of CO2 emissions. On the 16th & 17th of November IMEP’s team along with national and international consultants kicked off its first training in Egypt “Motors System Optimization – Users Training”. The training comprised of 53 trainees in the energy realm who received a certificate of “User Training” completion ensuring that they have been trained theoretically to cover the following topics; introduction to MSO, the systems approach, motor technologies, motor standards, motor selection, motor operating controls, pumps, fans, compressed air, other applications, power quality & power factor, mechanical transmissions, maintenance and repair, conducting an MSO assessment, development of MSO business case, eMobility, demand response and smart grids, MSO training guideline.
