The Egyptian Program for Promoting Industrial Motor Efficiency conducts the second “Expert’s level – Compressed Air System Optimization” training session during 27 June till the 1st of July 2021. A total of 19 individual consultants and energy experts affiliated to diverse manufacturing industries attended the 5-days expert level CASO training session. The training session encompassed both a theoretical and a practical segment which was facilitated and moderated by UNIDO’s international consultants Eng. Siraj Williams and Eng. Albert Williams. The UNIDO consultants tackled a number of vital topics including understanding Compressed Air, Air Treatment, and paved the way for participants to install data logging equipment to give system performance recommendations during the site visit at “Arabian Cement Company-ACC” which spanned over 2 days of the round. ACC is considered a leading cement producer in Egypt and has a rich history of being a vital associate for UNIDO’s energy efficiency operations in Egypt. ACC’s cement factory is located in Suez Governorate, and produces five million tons of first quality cement annually – approximately 6% of Egypt’s production. As ACC remains keen to apply state-of-the-art environmental management systems, Eng. Mahmoud Mohsen, Eng. Hazem Moshir, & Eng. Sameh saleh from ACC generously hosted the participants and helped pass on their educative knowledge to them. Participants experienced the different uses of compressed air system in the cement manufacturing process including using it during packing, to clear filters, and in conditioning towers and more to help elevate their capacity.
